It is rare to see many innovative technologies in the outdoor and fitness category. Something that is common in consumer electronics (my previous geek expertise) is now starting to show up in running shoes and running gear. Here are a few unique gems I stumbled upon recently.
- Ashmei Ultimate Softshell Running Jacket – The James Bond of Running Jackets from the United Kingdom, windproof, water resistant, fast wicking, warm and extremely breathable. Back panel is made of Merino wool. Full review coming soon. MSRP $275.
- SKORA Running FORM – The Apple of Running Shoes from start-up SKORA features a full leather upper with Pittards goatskin leather. It is designed with an asymmetric lacing and no-tongue construction to provide a glove-like fit and premium performance. Full review coming soon. MSRP $195.
- Garmin Forerunner 610 – The King of GPS watches is the first to put touch and heart rate monitor on the wrist of athletes. The 610’s sleek touch screen is as rugged as it is functional and can stand up to rain, sweat and splashes. Read my Garmin full review. MSRP $399.
- Pivot Head Aurora – The Video Recording Eyewear company is delivering true high-definition point-of-view (POV) video inside top quality designer-style sunglasses. The bulk, mounts and hassles are gone; technology and style are in. Full review coming soon. MSRP $349.
We have our eyes and ears out for innovative designs and will post another first look preview later this year!
