Due to a dramatic increase in tariffs, our Step into Summer Sale (May 5-12, 2025) may be the last time you’ll be able to purchase Lems at our current prices. We’re doing everything we can to delay any changes, but the reality is that new tariffs are over 160%, compared to the 17% we were previously paying. That’s nearly 10 times higher, and it more than doubles the cost of making each pair of shoes.
If these tariffs remain in place—or even if they are reduced by half—we’ll still be forced to increase our prices sometime between June and September. If we don’t adjust, we risk running out of the funds that we need to keep inventory moving and to pay for incoming product.
That’s why we’re offering this sale—not just to prepare for what’s ahead, but as a way to keep doing what we love. Designing shoes. Building them from the ground up. Hearing your stories about how they’ve helped you walk farther, stand longer, or simply feel better. That’s what drives us. This brand was built on passion and purpose, and no matter the challenges, we’re committed to finding a way forward. We’ll continue making the shoes you love—because this is more than a business to us. It’s a promise.
I first met Andrew for dinner in Cleveland, OH, in July 2013. LEMs Shoes was called STEM Footwear then Leming Footwear back then. We talked about minimalist shoes and also about track & field – Andrew is a pole vaulter and I’m a jumper (triple, long, high) and mid-distance sprinter (400m, 800m) and runner. Over a decade later, I’ve seen how Andrew took LEMs national by expanding their shoe category offerings – I especially love their business casual (work shoes does not have to be uncomfortable).
I’ve tested almost every pair of LEMs Shoes (minus a few hiking boots) and have loved almost every design – wide toe box, light cushioning, zero drop, lightweight, flexible, appealing designs. What more can you ask!
