Altra and SOAR Set a New Benchmark in Trail Racing Performance

Posted on July 15, 2025July 15, 2025

SOAR, pioneers in high-performance apparel, and Altra, a trailblazer in footwear, have joined forces to set a new benchmark in trail racing. Uniting SOAR’s precision-built apparel with Altra’s trail-tested footwear, the collection delivers a complete racing system engineered for speed, protection, comfort and control.

A Complete Trail Racing System for Peak Performance

The Altra x SOAR capsule collection has been designed as a cohesive system to perform in unison on race day, in heat, over long-distance, and across rugged terrain.

Altra X SOAR Trail Race Top

Featherlight and pack-compliant, this tee is engineered for heat and intensity. A multi-fabric construction combines UPF 50 protection on the shoulders and upper arms with abrasion-resistant panels and ultra-light mesh across the torso — creating a garment that cools actively while protecting precisely.

Altra X SOAR Trail Race Shorts

A stripped-back half tight built around RHEON™ — a reactive superpolymer developed from NASA technology. It adapts to the impact of running, stiffening under force to absorb energy, then relaxing for freedom of movement. With a waistband-free construction and integrated storage throughout, these shorts are made for technical terrain, long days, and elite-level performance.

Altra X SOAR Mont Blanc Carbon Trail Shoes

Central to the collection, these trail shoes are equipped with a full-length carbon plate designed for explosive propulsion. Coupled with dual-density midsoles for optimal comfort and responsiveness, and a Vibram® outsole for superior grip, these shoes are ideal for tackling ultra-distance races and challenging terrains. The distinctive Prism colourway featuring both SOAR and Altra logos highlights the unique partnership.

Printed Run Cap

Lightweight, breathable, and weather-ready. Cut for comfort and clarity in the mountains.

Built to Perform. Designed to Integrate.

Every element in the collection was tested by elite athletes and refined through real-world racing — at pace, under pressure, and at elevation. Together, they form a complete race-day system — balancing propulsion, protection, and packability. Built through adaptive smart materials, meticulous design, and groundbreaking construction. Finished in a distinctive Altra x SOAR Prism colourway.

“At Altra, we’ve always thrived on challenging the status quo for the sake of uncompromised running performance, and we’ve found a kindred spirit in SOAR,” says Altra President Jen McLaren. “This collection is the result of two innovative brands breaking convention together to support trail runners with gear that’s as thoughtful and intentional as the athletes who wear it.”

“It has been a pleasure to work with Altra on this trail race capsule. They brought their shoe ‘A game’ with the Mont Blanc Carbon, while we developed a brand new and unique trail race system. This combination of shoe and apparel offers trail runners an ultra-high-performance solution to their race day kit needs.” says Tim Soar, Founder & CEO, SOAR Running.
