The VIVOBAREFOOT Primus Swim Run Boot SG (soft ground) is designed for the amphibious athlete over land and sea. Developed in collaboration with ÖtillÖ, founders of the Swimrun World Championship, the Primus Swim Run boot seamlessly transition between wet and dry while keeping out grit and silt. But you don’t have to be in the water swimming to take advantage of this VIVOBAREFOOT boot. Heavy rain & wind in Northern California or snow & ice in Wisconsin won’t keep you away from the streets and trails.
The sticky sole with tail lugs provided excellent traction on wet asphalt and slippery trails in the rain. The snow is no problem (shoe is warm enough sock-less) but need extra care when running over ice. But it has better traction than any road or trail shoe in wet and icy conditions hands down!
VIVOBAREFOOT Swim Run Boot SG Features
- Foot-Shaped Construction – for unrestricted foot freedom
- Neoprene Ankle Sock – full ankle mobility in and out of water
- Water Repellent Recycled PET Mesh – for minimal wet weight
- Quick Drain Zones – pump water out with each foot stride
- Sticky Soft Ground Sole with Tall Lugs – for traction in mud
- Orange Rubber – for visibility in the water
Notice that the soft ground sole has taller lugs (5mm) versus those of the firm ground (3mm) like the Primus Swim Run Trail we wear tested over a year ago. The soft ground (SG) sole has teeth-like studs giving you maximum off-trail traction with minimal clogging. The firm ground (FG) sole is the ultimate all-rounder with low-profile, multi-directional lugs, for on wet or dry rocky and moderately muddy surfaces. Both soles are made with VIVOBAREFOOT sticky rubber compound.
The boot (ankle sock) itself keep the debris out without the need for a gaiter as with most trail shoes. However, putting the boot on is not as easy although it comes off easily.
