It bears repeating why Tifosi Optics is one of my favorite brands for running and outdoor sunglasses: fit, styling, and price. And appropriately, TIFOSI is the Italian word for super-fan, an avid sports enthusiast. Over the past 4 years, we have reviewed the Tifosi Clarion Mirror collection, Tyrant 2.0, Podium, and now, the Veloce.
There are many versions of the Tifosi Optics Veloce model including Reader, Fototec Lens, Hydrophobic (Clarion), Bike/Run Interchangeable, and Golf Interchangeable but the model we are wear testing here is the Bike/Run Interchangeable. Our model include three lenses: AC Red (41.4% L.T.), Clarion Blue (14.7% L.T.), and Clear (95.6% L.T.) where L.T. is the light transmission amount.
Tifosi Optics Interchangeable sunglasses feature de-centered shatterproof polycarbonate lenses to virtually eliminate distortion, give sharp peripheral vision, and offer 100% protection from harmful UVA/UVB rays, bugs, rocks, or whatever comes your way. Lens installation/removal is fast and easy.
All Tifosi frames are made from durable and flexible Grilamid TR-90 nylon, with hydrophilic rubber on the arms and nose pads for a more custom, comfortable, and no-slip fit. Each pair of Tifosi Optics sunglasses also come with a hard shell zippered case and microfiber cleaning bag.
So how did the new Tifosi Optics Veloce perform?
For over 4 months, I wore the Tifosi Optics Veloce exclusively for all my running and cycling. From foggy and overcast to bright and sunny weather, Fall and Spring seasons, I brave through all my trail runs and bike rides with the Veloce. The frames are streamlined and lightweight. The fit is perfect – the lenses does not gets as close to my cheeks like other models or brands.
The Veloce is the best selling model for cycling from Tifosi and we agree! Like a well-fitted bike, you are wearing the Veloce for many hours during each ride or long trail runs – make sure your sunglasses fits comfortably. For different weather conditions in other parts of the country, you might fare better with other variations like the Fototec model.
Finally, the vented lenses improve air circulation and also prevent fogging. For warm days, the sweat repellant features kick in so if sweat is an issue, make sure you choose the hydrophobic Clarion reflective lens. The hydrophobic coating repels water and sweat to help prevent moisture from gathering on the lens, increasing visibility and preventing distortion.
The Tifosi Optics Veloce is available in many frame styles and combination of lenses.
The Tifosi Optics Veloce collection is now available at: Amazon, Zappos and Competitive Cyclist.
